APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE PROCESS

Before you do any work on your property, contact the Historical Commission (email HHC@HHCOMMISSION.ORG) to let them know that you are planning to work on your historic property. The Commission will assign one of the Commissioners to work with you as an Advocate to make it a friendlier and less time-consuming process. Eventually, you must fill out an Application.

Download the Application for Certificate form or get one from the Town Clerk. Complete the form and submit it to the Town Clerk. We can only accept the Application that has been time-stamped by the Town Clerk. The application needs to include:

‐ Your name, address, and a description of what you want to do;

‐ If your proposed changes are extensive, include pictures, drawings and a plot plan;

You will also be billed for a newspaper ad (about $50) if HHC decides that a public hearing is required.
