Just a short note to welcome a good friend and historic preservationist, Dianne Newton to our FORUM for Historic Harvard. Di needs no introduction. Her command of house histories and Harvard architecture is well-known. She joins Susan Lee, Scott Roy and myself who will work to advocate for historic preservation in our fair town of Harvard.
As we said in our initial launch announcement on January 18, the FORUM is a ‘friends of preservation’ group of volunteers who will serve the citizens of Harvard. Its mission is historic preservation and we make ourselves available to the Historical Commission and the Historical Society as an ‘extra hand’ where they need and ask for help.
We look forward to working with Di and I know that she has a few things to say about historic preservation of our buildings and our history. Welcome aboard, Di.
